Monitoring and Evaluation of the Egyptian Italian Fashion Design School for Women and Girls (DESITA)

CGS provides the monitoring and evaluation service for DESITA, the Egyptian Italian Fashion Design School for Women and Girls, established in 10th of Ramadan City under TAMKEEN, the EU and Egypt programme for women's empowerment. The service translates the project logical framework into a working monitoring approach that gives the Project Management Unit, AICS and the implementing partners accurate, disaggregated and timely evidence for decision making, learning and accountability. The assignment delivers a customized open source Management Information System, available to the partners free of charge, together with training for the PMU and the partners on the system and on the monitoring methodology. A mixed methods toolkit of key informant interview guides, field visit checklists, focus group protocols and beneficiary satisfaction scorecards runs alongside the routine data captured in the system, covering the establishment of the institute, its educational and training services, and the capacitation of stakeholders. Reporting follows a two month cycle of data extraction, quality checks, field visits to Sharqia and analysis, feeding bimonthly monitoring reports and a final report that reads results against the framework and against the cross cutting themes of environment, ownership, inclusion and non discrimination.
